Same

when two traditions

each proclaim editions

of the seditions

of the other

and conversations

(amidst derisions)

that could lead

to decisions

for Safety

and Liberation

and Equality

and Justice

for All

only end

in silence

and violence

where oppression

creates aggression

and living

in terror

results in responses

of terrorism

and the Ones

paying the most

perilous price

are the Innocents

in harm's way

at the mercy

of those whose

anger and fear

and woundedness

blinds them

from seeing

any other way

as they cross

over boundaries

of respect

to build barriers

of rejection

and resentment

and we cross

our fingers

and chests

and press

our palms together

to Wish

and Hope

and Pray

(supposedly an Act

of naïveté 

as some say)

may we look

to the Ones

who embody Innocence

and embrace

each other

and each Day

as a Gift

much less in

a state of fear

and more in

a state of Play

and may They

remind Us All

of what is

most essential

that We All

are made of

the Same Soil

and Spirit

the Same Dust 

and Stardust

and We share

the Same 

physical DNA

the Same 

Spiritual ID

(Imago Dei)

and that

there is

Another Way

that leads to

a Better Day

for All

of Us together

showering Us

with Love

empowering Us

to build Bridges

of Connection

and Contentment

embodying the Sacred

Shalom and Salaam

in which We

are Created to abide

not taking sides

but giving Grace

side by side

may the Seeds

sown in tears

of division

take root in

that Sacred Soil

and blossom into

a Garden of Delights

Rejoicing in

our different stories

that lead us to

the Same Glories

emerging out

of the Darkness

that reveals all

that's been concealed

in our World

and our Cosmos

the Beautiful Reality

that We are 

Created and Called

to be Lights...
