Silent

amidst all
that is violent
being unfurled
upon our world
like the gears
of oppression
in obsession
being swirled
and whirled
by the fears
of a tyrant
as vibrant hues
of reds and blues
are bleeding
into violet
and reason seems
to be absent
and Peace disappears
like absinthe
and vivid Dreams
are starkly vacant
and Hope appears
to be vagrant
and the Ones
that we long for
are ever distant
and the scents
that stir our memories
are far less fragrant
and the sense
that spurs us onward
vanishes into the dark
and leaves us
blundering through
the night wondering
where the Sky went
thundering in regret
over how the Gift
of Time was spent
within this claustrophobic
and comforting fencing
as these treacherous times
are increasingly tensing
our pretensing
(and pretending)
that once held sway
can give way
to percepting
in a new Way
where our Hearts
and our Beings
are continually sensing
a perpetual Pulsing
that's Eternally mending
our wounds
that are hissing
for the Ones
we are missing
a subversive Lifeline
that runs inversively
to our expectations
and intentions and inventions
and keeps our connections
alive in Love
(even as we
can't feel it
as we wait
for the usual means
to reveal it -
an encoded message
or a clandestine call -
and we forget
in these disorienting days
that our old
and familiar ways
ultimately create
a distorting haze
that only serves
to conceal it)
enabling the Wisdom
that gives us
Courage to know
Patience to grow
through the pain
and the sorrow
to freely Flow
beneath the frost
of this unbearable
and despairable holocaust
to all of us
who are wondering
the lonely Ones
who are wandering
but are not lost
that only comes when
we cease our internal
and infernal conversing
we release our expectings
and incessant projectings
we lose our control
we let it all go...

and

we

are

Silent.
