of people physically
undistancing around You
jockeying for position
vying for an empowering
or entitling
or entitling
hallowing or healing
touch from You
one Day
no one
stood close
to You
not even
your Eloi
leaving You
in darkness
for dead
but Who knew
that within abandonment
was acceptance
within forsakenness
was forgiveness
within loneliness
was Love
within horror
was Healing
within death
was Life
within darkness
was Light
that distance
provided the space
for Presence
in absence
and the Grace
for closeness
that transcends
flesh and bone?
and Who knows
how a crisis
of cataclysmic proportions
causing chaos
claiming lives
might open
our eyes
and ears
hearts and minds
reanimate our Bodies
reorient our Beings
and our lives
to increase compassion
decrease pollution
multiply connection
embody Resurrection?
