The Heart (Mother's Day 2023)

through whatever circumstances 

or happenstances

that define 

the version

of 'Family'

in which 

we reside

and whatever aversions

or diversions

or conversions

with which

we collide 

along the Way

to becoming 

who we are

we are grateful

on this Day

for those

who through being

our parents

or simply sharing

their Presence

with us

(or both) 

we call 'Mother'

the Beloved Ones

with whom

we can abide

(and confide)

who gave us

our start

into this wild

and wonderful adventure

we call 'Life'

who are with us

even when 

they depart

who plant seeds

deep within us

watered with tears

of harrowing grief

and hallowing Grace

and healing Hope

(and subversive Joy)

and through seeing

and celebrating

the true essence

of our Being

gave us a Love

that can save us

(and often still does)

and gives us chances

(beyond mere romances

and fleeting glances)

to feel the embraces

that open the Door

back into the Center

and twirl us

back onto the Floor

where the Presence

takes our hand

and Dances with us

in unconditional Acceptances

and unconventional Paces

with Revelational Rhythm

that thumps and pumps

with vivacious vitality

that keeps us 

moving and grooving

glowing and flowing

in the Reality

that no matter what

may swirl us

round and round

in our minds

our Mothers

will always Center

our Spirits 

at Home

since They are

the Heart...
