Dream into Reality

57 years
to the day when
the Boy from Troy
and MLK
led the Way
to declare
that the Dream
of Equality
and Dignity
and Respect
and Justice
for all
has not appeared
but remains stuck
inside of pipes
stuffed with hatred
and violence
and fear
which have struck
upon the heads
and shoulders
of the Oppressed
but have not
penetrated their hearts
silenced their cries
for Equality
and Dignity
and Respect
and Justice
for ALL
the blows
upon the brows
of these Beloveds
only creating
a sacred Rhythm
of Redemption
and Resurrection
of Respect
for the Dance
of Deliverance
and Destiny
of Dignity
the excoriation
of these Incarnations
merely igniting
an inspiring Inferno
of Illumination
and Enlightenment
for the exhumation
of Equality
the Torch
of Liberation
passed from generations
past to present
is now proudly
and purposefully
prayerfully and carefully
carried
not by kings
or conquerors
but Creators
Kids not playing
in the sand
but paying
their respects
to their ancestors
and this Land
that is theirs
just as much
as It is
yours and mine
reflecting the resolve
of their forebears
in the fight
for Freedom
embodying the Hope
of the Beloved Community
that is perpetually
an Eternal Reality
a Primal Presence
a Universal Unity
where the wolves
commune and celebrate
with the lambs
and the youngest
among us
are leading us
playing their pipes
of Peace
fanning the Flames
of Freedom
harnessing the Winds
of Change
sailing with the Spirit
of Love
singing the Songs
of Hope
leading the Way
to that Better Day
where the dissension
and destructions
disappears
and the Dream
of Equality
and Dignity
and Respect
and Justice
for ALL
is Real.
