Move

for the times

when your Breath

is taken away

by Beauty

or betrayal

in Pleasure

or pain

and the breadth

of the bandwidth

in your brain

is stretched beyond

its capacity

to contain

all the stresses

and strains

from staggering losses

and what remains

are simply shadows

of what once

was the Presence

of Beloved Partners

in the Dance

blown off

of the floor

(or having

the floor

pulled out

from under them)

without having

another chance

to sway together

and say whatever

comes to mind

from the heart

singing each

other's praises

in intimate refrains

and sharing

the Infinite Gratitude

that Eternally amazes

our awe-struck Souls

and we wonder

when the violence

(and the silence

about it)

will end

and the holes

in our haggard

hearts will mend

and the depth

of sorrow

over the death

of innocent Dancers

(and intricate Dances)

and their absence

from this world

will be embraced

by the deeper

Presence of Grace

and Comfort

and Solidarity

and Peace

and we

are met

by the Breath

that never left

and never forgets

that finds us

and reminds us

that what was

taken away returns

(and even remains)

in another Way

to Inspire us

to Move

more wholly

into the Endless

and Beautiful Day

in which

we All

have a part

to play

a Truth

to say

a Turn

to take

a Move

to make

for the sake

of the Dancers

who in our hearts

forever will stay...
