(Un)divided (Inauguration Day 2021)

one flame

divided in two

not merely

an optical illusion

but a clue

to the obstacle

catalyzing my confusion

that stray follicle

that landed

in my eye

and lodged 

in my cornea

and imbedded 

in my Being

convincing me

that all is not

well with my Soul

that i am not

One but two

unable to be

centered and rooted

grounded and free

as One whole Being

in One holy Love

with One human Life

to live and give

and the conflicted

chaos around me

doesn't astound me

since i only see

a reflection

of what's inside me

one Mind

seeing disparate mentalities

one Heart

feeling desperate realities

one Psyche

processing dissonant polarities

one Spirit

sensing dominant dualities

tearing my Self

into fragments

of an Incarnation

baring my Soul

into figments

of my imagination

a diffuse disintegration

descending into the dark

ripples of rumination

and ruination

a bottomless well

a fathomless hell

a harrowing hole

beyond pigments

but always perceived

as black

overflowing into rivulets

of reprobation

condemning my Self

for our collective 

demonizations of each other

and our society

as a whole

the sighs of woe

the cries for Wisdom

are drowned out

as they descend

into the darkness

of the well

where all

is not well

with my Soul...

yet in the depths

of deafening Silence

beneath this murky mire

of despair

there is a Presence

murmuring in Mystery

a Sacred Spring

a deeper Well

that permeates

this seeming hell

the brilliant beauty

within the Blackness

empowering resurgence

overcoming our history

of self-inflicted separation

and fear-empowered castigation

reminding our Selves

(seemingly shattered by shame)

that we are saturated

in gorgeous Grace

and situated

in Sacred Space

interrelated in Spirit

incarnated in Love

and regardless

of the violence

of the hells

breaking loose

all around us

there's that murmuring Voice

that tells us

in the Silence

that reverberates

within us

what is True

that we are many

and essentially One

a living Flame 

fired by the Sun

a radiant Rainbow

emerging from the storm

converging the categories

transcending the 'norm'

connected with the Source

interconnected with Cosmos 

intimated with Creations

Undivided and United

not divided in two

and no matter who

seeks to deceive

our senses

or what spells

our fear and shame

may try to weave

that perpetual Presence

of holistic Hope

and limitless Love

that reverberates

within us

reminds us

that we are well

and all are well

and it is well

in the Well

of our Soul.
