the folklore depicts
the couple wandering
in the wilderness
from Nazareth
to Bethlehem
the young woman
propped up precariously
hobbling along humbly
on a donkey
but given her courage
to embrace the improbability
and enact the impossibility
amidst the hostility and hardships
from the culture
the adversity and abandonment
from the community
the silence and shame
heaped upon her
for simply saying yes
to months of expecting
and enveloping
a developing Hope
that confounds expectations
an expanding Love
that astounds conventions
and transcends limitations
of morality
and mortality
and Spirituality
imagine the originality
of this courageous carrier
of unbridled passion
and compassionate Beauty
striding along Spiritedly
upon a Horse
straddling the sinews
rising Gracefully
with each Sacred stride
riding in reverberatory
Revelatory Rhythm
a Transcendent Tango
as one
with her steed
at One
with her Self
harnessing the thrust
propelling her onward
into the night
thrilling her senses
filling her body
and Soul and Being
with feeling and meaning
and pleasure and Joy
raring to face
the Reality
of her present
whilst bearing the Grace
of the greatest Present
of all
for all
within her Self
to be unfurled
into the world
preparing the Space
for the coming
of the Light
amidst the sounds
of wordless ones
their Wisdom
whispering low
and the scents
of the waste
that helps the silent
seeds to grow
the softness of skin
in the stiffness of hay
and the darkness of night
making Way for the Day
she humbly and courageously
embodies Love outrageously
and strength and radiance agelessly
like a Miracle
ever present
and often shown
and a Mystery
never solved
but always known.
