i see the sidewalks
becoming makeshift
residential blocks
sub-standard shelters
the kaleidoscope of colours
blossoming less
from trees
than tents
and when i freeze
in fear
when faced
with such
abject and avoidable poverty
i see
warm hands
reaching out
with food
and warm hearts engaging
tired souls
with acceptance
and attention
and in this tension
of reality
with possibility
the Charity
that embraces the person
and transcends
the night
the Clarity
that envisions the person
beyond imposition
and plight
awakens illumination
to see another Sight
where barn
becomes birthplace
feed trough
becomes bed and blanket
and houseless
human is
hallowed Beloved
and i'm revelationally reminded
that Love
is alive
and well
in the ordinary hearts
and extraordinarily
Beloved souls
of humans
whose senses have been
lovingly awakened
by crying
sighing Infinity.
