beating as One (Memorial Day 2023)

as we reflect

with deep Respect

and profound Gratitude

upon those Human Beings

who have shown

undaunted Courage

to face derisions

and endure incisions

into the heart

of Liberty and Justice

for all Human Beings

paying the price

with their own Lives

may we do so

with humble Hope

for the coming

of the Day

of endless Sun

where the thunder

of a gun

is heard no more

and weapons of war

are transformed into

instruments of Peace

where no Human Beings

ever need to sacrifice

their own Lives

for the sake

of the divisions

created and perpetuated

by fellow Human Beings 

where our fearful blindness

to the innate Belovedness

of all Human Beings

is Transcendently recovered

into mindful Seeing

and the hearts

of all Human Beings

are radically rediscovered

to have never stopped  

beating as One...
